The European Azerbaijan School (EAS) is proud to share that our CEO & Director, Mr. Francesco Banchini, recently presented at the Alliance for International Education Conference in The Hague. His session, titled “İşıq Toxumları – Seeds of Light: A Roadmap for Leaders and Educators”, highlighted both innovative educational leadership practices and a powerful story rooted in Azerbaijan.
The concept of Seeds of Light originated in December 2020, when EAS, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, launched a project for the children of Barda and Aghdam – communities heavily affected by the war. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, EAS volunteer teachers provided online lessons, shared strategies with local educators, and supported nearly 350 students committed to continuing their education.
This initiative demonstrated that true leadership in education is about planting seeds of equity, compassion, and resilience, even during the most difficult times. As Mr. Banchini emphasized, when nurtured, these seeds grow into stronger, fairer, and more peaceful learning communities.
Looking ahead, EAS remains dedicated to improving education in Azerbaijan while also supporting international students who study in the country. Our vision is clear: to build systems that empower every learner to develop and thrive.
